Remarks I witnessed the event from inside my home so I may have only caught the ending based upon my limited field of view. I was sitting in my living room and I saw the event looking out through my sliding glass door to my back yard. A fireball like object flashed in the sky and descended. As it descended it gradually flashed/exploded over the course of the brief descent I was able to see. The flash resulted in the object increasing in size 2-3 times the original size and it seemed to smolder out as it descended behind the horizon of the homes on the street adjacent to my house. From my window I could only see a limited amount of the night sky but it did seem to "appear" and disappear generally within the viewable field of my vision. I did not see any trails but perhaps this is because the sky was dark (nighttime). I was even thinking it could have been some sort of missile but there was no explosion. It was much too bright to be a firework. It could have been space debris.
