It seemed a ways away. I didn't have to turn my head to see the beginning or the end of it. It all happened right out in front of me. I never saw it "disappear", I was on a hill and some trees obscured my view once it got lower. Bright green ball with bright yellow trail/tail behind it. I think I was too far away to see any smoke if there was some.
