Heard a boom about 8 to 10 minutes later, similar to the space shuttle re-entry boom. Not positive it was associated. Took a compass reading based on the contrail which tracked 122 degrees from my viewing position.

Remarks
It left a contrail in several places behind it in a small section of clear sky. The contrail was affected by the wind almost immediately. It disappeared in about 4 minutes, and changed from a clean line to a ragged line in the process. The contrail tracked at path heading of 122 degrees from my position.
