Reports Report 1561ach (Event 1561-2019)

Observer
Name Alan C
Experience Level 4/5
Remarks Time was 06:50 Eastern Time. I confirmed accuracy of the time on my cell phone with Universal Time (to the second) on two different Internet web sites. Fireball was seen over 10 seconds. Very slow and persistent. No observable fragmentation. A steady short fiery trail seemed to be behind it. I observed it through a cirrus cloud layer. Green and bright. I lost sight of it when it reached a thicker cirrus cloud. Sighting was SSE to SE, roughly. Heading toward the sunrise. Quite conceivable for the object to have been physically over the NC-SC border area. I have been an avid amateur astronomer and observer of the skies all my life. I am now 67. Farsighted. Use only reading glasses. Over 10 years military time working on aircraft. 456 skydiving parachute jumps. Very fortunate to be in the right place at the right time.
