Remarks Totally caught me by surprise. I had taken a slight detour to work to drop off a water bill, and while waiting to turn due north onto the main highway this fireball dropped almost vertically in front of me; I could see it clearly through a road right-of-way that faces almost due east. The fireball dropped almost straight down. It was about 6:45 AM local time, the eastern sky was getting light but the sun had not yet come up to the horizon yet. Very neat! Just a right-place, right-time viewing! One comment--and I'm not sure if this was just due to the fireball's trajectory or what, but it seemed to be moving slowly, slower than other meteorites I've seen in the past--almost like the burst of a Roman candle as it drops to the ground. From my view, it was giving off intense yellow light, maybe mixed with a little blue. There was a tail to it but it didn't linger that I noticed.
