Reports Report 1561agp (Event 1561-2019)

Observer
Name Anne M
Experience Level 2/5
Remarks It was the coolest thing i've ever seen; i've never seen anything like that before. i've seen shooting stars but they appeared far away; this seemed so close within a few miles (to the eye) and large with thick train. in evaluating my answers note that i was observing it not from the ground but from my living room which is on a second floor; and my house is on a mountain so visually i'm looking southeasterly and i'm level with the mountain view. in answering your questions, i tried to imagine what my line of sight would have been if i'd been standing in my backyard, but from my elevation, it came only slightly above the height of where i was sitting in a chair in my living room. and it moved from right to left at about a 35 or 45 degree angle and disappeared when it looked like it was in line with mountain or just before; it was a little cloudy behind that mountain so it "seemed" to disappear. Hope that helps. what's the difference between a fireball and a shooting star, she asks?
