Remarks Looking west, i was walking on the esplanade on the nyc side of the hudson river in battery park city, along the river path at 12:49 am. I was directly across from the colgate clock. The fireball came into view near the top of the goldman sacks building (which is on the NJ bank of the river in Jersey City); The fireball was visible approx. over the south-going landing path that planes take coming into Newark Airport coming from the north. The fireball was traveling south and downward with a clear tail. Then, it broke up, and went dark over the spot where the planes turn right to land on the last landing strip at the airport (right @ or before the planes turn, As they are traveling south, they must turn right before they get to the old train station on the NJ side of the river so they can land at the most southerly east-west facing runway, i believe) That is where the meteor appeared to break up (fragmentation) and went dark. Obviously, the meteor was MUCH FARTHER AWAY FROM ME....than just over the Newark Airport runways!!! It was probably over Pennsylvania, or even much further west. Very exciting. Thank you for this nice website. Not sure I used the delimiters in your previous screens correctly so that's why I am explaining it better here. Sorry, so long-winded.
