Reports Report 1226c (Event 1226-2012)

Observer
Name Andrés
Experience Level 3/5
Remarks It was a very new and weird (and awesome) experience seeing an objkect that big and bright moving through the sky at such high speeds. Because I expected the white streak to disappear (as most shooting stars do), it took a couple of seconds for my brain to register what it was witnessing once the streak of light kept going and turned yellow.

Remarks -
Delayed Sound
Observation Yes
Remarks I only heard one (very audible) boom a couple of seconds (if that) after losing sight of the object. It seemed to loud for the sound to have come from any sort of impact, so my guess is that it came from the object entering the atmosphere.
Persistent train
Observation Unknown
Duration 3s
Length 40°
Remarks First looked like a regular shooting star (streak white in color), but the streak quickly turned yellow and began to stretch across the sky until it looked like pieces of the object began to break apart, and out of it came an orange glowing object continuing the arc path, with the streak quickly dissipating afterwards. I quicky lost sight of the object as it kept going, but I heard a booming, thunder-like sound within seconds of losing sight of it. The whole experience could not have taken more than five exciting, suprising, random, and alarming seconds.
Terminal flash
Observation No
Remarks After the steak of light had a good amount of length to it, the head of it began to break apart very quickly, and out of it, an orange object came into view. Not too many particles appears to break off. Maybe one or two other small pieces, but it was hard to remember all the details, being that it was so unexpected.
Fragmentation
Observation Yes
