I'm not sure what I saw was a meteor or comet honestly, probably meteor. It was one of the most amazing celestial experiences I've ever had, comparable to viewing an eclipse of the sun in totality.

Glowing train, really bright white, could still see a residual brightness after it was gone for a few seconds.

It was all very bright white and it was so close to the horizon, I saw it just above a hill, that it looked like I might have seen a black center. So I think I saw a terminal flash possibly.
