Remarks | I was sitting in my backyard looking skyward at the clear, starlit night. Out of the corner of my eye I caught sight of what I thought was a shooting star, but it quickly grew to become a fireball with a long, fiery tail. The relative size was stunning. If the north star is a pinprick in the sky, this was the size of a large pea, and it looked improbably close. Duration was 4-5 seconds. No sound, and I didn't remain long enough to hear any sonic report. It was spectacular, almost surreal. Unlike anything I've ever seen! |
