Remarks I have never thought to report seeing a shooting star before. But, this fireball was so extreme and like nothing else I'd seen before I had to share. I was driving to my Army National Guard unit and was a few minutes from being late, so I know the time was close to around 0627 Eastern standard time. (I had just crossed into this time zone, as happened at the border of central time zone. When I saw this, it actually scared me (that's hard to do). I almost pulled over and might have if I wasn't running late. I've seen maybe several dozen shooting stars and have intentionally looked out at the sky during about 4 different meteor showers. When I saw it, it scared me because i thought I was looking at a giant rocket shooting downward from really high in the sky or a firework shooting downward (before a firework explodes). I didn't realize it was meteor I noticed the behavior of the trail and just how incredibly fast this object had to be moving. Then I thought either we're getting nuked or a meteor is heading for Earth and may make landfall. I'd never seen a fireball this bright, heading in the downward direction, and produce such a long trail with crazy colors. It fell really far down until I lost sight of it at the tree line. I really wish I had a dash cam in my car because it would have caught the entire event. I couldn't stop talking about this all day and I just had to share. I wish I knew more about this particular meteor/ fireball. I'm happy to share more information.

Persistent train
Observation Yes
Duration 4s
Length 45°
Remarks The train really caught my eye because it was extremely bright, long lasting and didn't look straight like shooting stars I'd seen before. My first thought was that it looked like a rocket or firework flying downward.
Terminal flash
Observation Yes
Remarks I was driving exactly in the direction of this fireball. There was at least one bright flash that initially brought my attention to it.
Fragmentation
Observation Yes
Remarks I believe I saw fragmentation. If there was it didn't veer far from its path but something made this trail not look completely straight to me like the much less significant shooting stars I've seen before.
