| Remarks | I was in my great room talking on the phone to a friend, and facing south. The south wall of the great room has two large atrium double door/window units in it. Suddenly the sky and outdoors lit up brightly and I could tell that the light was coming from the northeast moving rapidly towards the south or southwest. I was standing and instantly raced the three steps to the nearest atrium window and saw the fireball/meteor streak into view as its trajectory neared earth in a southerly or southwesterly direction. It then burst and started fragmenting about halfway from the point that it first appeared in my field of view to where it faded out/burned out, still above the southeasterly treelined horizon. |

| Remarks | The fireball was large and white, but it had orange flames and sparks coming off of it. Towards the end of its appearance, it started to break up into smaller pieces. These pieces also had orange flames licking off of them. However, the brighter sparks and pieces that came off of it left dark green contrails that quickly faded away. |
| Terminal flash | |
|---|---|
| Observation | Yes |
| Remarks | There was a flash that occurred as the meteor broke into smaller pieces with a shower of sparks and multiple white-hot pieces with orange flames and dark green, quickly fading contrails. It actually looked similar to some fireworks. |
| Fragmentation | |
|---|---|
| Observation | Yes |
| Remarks | As it neared the end of its visible flight, it broke into 6 to 8 larger pieces accompanied by a shower of sparks and smaller fragments. The larger pieces were still white-hot with orangish flames and dark green, quickly fading contrails. The sparks and smaller fragments were yellow to orange, also with dark green, quickly fading contrails. The trajectory of the pieces curved more sharply towards earth as it rapidly lost velocity and the pieces cooled or burned up and faded out. |
