I could literally see it burning orange fire volor as it came down and I could see it breaking up a little as it came down, it looked like embers coming off of it. It looked like the trajectory was toward O'hare airport. It lasted about 3 seconds and disappeared as if it completely burned out before it got to about 15 degrees above ground level.
