Reports Report 1528ij (Event 1528-2012)

Observer
Name Amity J
Experience Level 2/5
Remarks From my position, it appeared to extinguish above CSUMB\'s athletic field. I was watching television when I first saw it through the living room window. The patio door was open and the screen in place, hence my difficulty describing sound until I got outside, at which point it extinguished a second or two later. Super awesome sight!!!! I do hope others saw something also to help you in your endeavors and research. I am reasonably certain about the time at which I observed it...possibly +/- 5 minutes. I have seen many meteor showers, but never something this large and seemingly close! Good luck!

Concurrent Sound
Observation Yes
Remarks -
Delayed Sound
Observation No
Remarks It was like hearing a far off plane or a mixture of a far off plane and the sound of gas escaping from a great distance, but not as loud or as drawn out. In fact, I struggled trying to figure out if I was actually hearing it or imagining I heard it. It appeared quite close, but I do not recall hearing a boom or burst when it extinguished. It was as if the light itself was the noise. Very hard to describe.
Persistent train
Observation Yes

Remarks Glowing trail with bursts of speckles surrounding it and following the tip
Terminal flash

Remarks There appeared to be bursts of bright \"speckles\" and the light and brightness of the ball itself fluctuated rapidly
