This appeared to be very low and close over me not like a typical falling star. I really thought it fell within a few miles of my position and went looking at the base of the mountains for evidence of something burning. Nothing found. Flight was south to north at my position.

Remarks
looked like changing dimensions with large diameter glow going from front to back and some voids on and off but bright long burn (tail) maybe chunks breaking off then just went out of sight but looked like it was going down north of Watsonville against the mountains.
Terminal flash
Observation

Remarks
I thought maybe it was a large aircraft on fire with pieces of it breaking off and going front to rear rolling through the glow or flame. twords the end of sighting there was smaller pieces glowing and then disappeared.
