Remarks | I was at the Austin Trail of Lights, so prominent visual cues were transient light displays that are difficult to place on the blank settings shown in the satellite images. I've done my best to correlate what I saw to the SAT map. Brightness is a best guess. It was brighter than Venus, but did not noticeably illuminate the surroundings (tho, we were in the middle of a Christmas light display at the time). The fireball was reminiscent of a falling fireworks flare, but there were no fireworks displays known (at the moment) and there was no observed mortar launch. |
