Experience Level 2/5
Remarks We were walking north on Scenic Road towards 8th Street in Carmel when we saw a big white fireball fairly low on the horizon begin to slowly streak across the sky above the ocean towards Pebble Beach. It was very bright and had a very large tail, and we observed fragments shearing off. It looked and felt so close that we thought it would impact the Earth, but it seemed to disappear in the sky before hitting the ground. It was a truly incredible and memorable sight!!!
