Observer
Name ANN T
Experience Level 3/5
Remarks I have been a star-gazer since childhood but have no training as such. I\'ve seen many meteor showers, \'shooting stars\', etc., but I have never seen anything like this. I have not heard yet that anyone in my area saw anything, but will be watching again tonight & the weekend for Orionid.

Delayed Sound
Observation No
Remarks There were several planes & jets in the sky over about 30 minutes before & after I saw the light & I could hear the usual sound that jets make as they go over, so I am not sure if it could have been from the meteor or not. But what I did hear seemed to not be out of the ordinary for a jet & I did not relate the sounds to the meteor. However, I did notice that just prior to the sighting, a pack of coyotes suddenly started yipping/howling loudly & stopped just as suddenly before I saw anything. In retrospect, I wondered if they heard something that hurt their ears that I didn\'t hear. I know that wolves & some other animals behave this way to some noises. I hear the coyotes out here very often, & it did seem odd to me, as they usually continue to yip/howl as they make their way through the woods around here & I can actually tell the direction they move by the dogs barking, etc.

Terminal flash
Observation Unknown
Remarks I was looking at the sky & noticed a large ball of bright light over my house. It was sudden & lasted 5, maybe 10 seconds. I\'m not sure if this was a terminal flash or not. After the ball of light was suddenly gone, I saw what looked like a small star moving in the same direction & completely disappeared in about 30 seconds. I described to a friend the size of the fireball as the end of a pencil eraser if the moon is the size of a quarter & a star the size of a dot you make with a pencil.
