Remarks -
Delayed Sound
Observation Yes
Remarks It was about 3 minutes after the fireball/trail had passed out of my view that I heard a faint but very deep \'boom\'. It was enough to convince me that I hadn\'t seen a plane go down around Oakland Airport. The boom was no louder than fireworks going off 10 miles away at the Oakland Area ballpark.
Persistent train
Observation Yes
Duration 3s
Length 99.99°
Remarks Because of the size, and apparently very low level of the fireball - and because I could actually see fluctuations like flames radiating from the it - I actually thought it was a small plane going down on approach to the Oakland Airport. But the fireball was moving faster than any small plane would and the broad, brightly glowing streak that appeared behind the fireball was as broad as the fireball and it persisted across the whole of my sky view for a second or so after the fireball had passed out of range. It was approx 3-5 minutes before I heard a faint boom to the North - that was long enough to convince me that the \'plane\' couldn\'t have gone down within 10 miles.
Terminal flash
Observation No
Remarks I truly thought I saw fluctuating flames extending from the fireball but I did not see \'pieces\' break off of the fireball.
Fragmentation
Observation No
