Reports Report 1528cw (Event 1528-2012)

Observer
Name Trudy R
Experience Level 2/5
Remarks I have seen 2 fireballs before, both of which dropped vertically towards the earth. This one really streaked across the sky. I put down 20• but it could have been more... It seemed to stay pretty level, but may have actually risen. The general brightness seemed full-moon like but the flash was more like the sun for a brief instant.

Concurrent Sound
Observation No
Remarks -
Delayed Sound
Observation No
Remarks I was in the car with the motor running and traffic around me. I had the distinct feeling that there was sound but I didn\'t really hear it. It was almost like I saw sound.
Persistent train
Observation Unknown
Duration 2.5s
Length 20°
Remarks I saw the train as the fireball was moving across the sky- it lasted for a few seconds. It seemed that the fireball was still appearing while the train was behind it.
Terminal flash
Observation Yes
Remarks The fireball increased in intensity and it had the feeling of fireworks-that one big ball was shot into the air and then had cascades erupt. There weren\'t really cascades of light, but there was the feeling of intensifying and disintegrating-there was a flash-as if it became more sun-like and then there was a very brief dispersal and then it disappeared.
Fragmentation
Observation Yes
