Remarks i am fascinated with activity from outer space, especially when it interacts with our planet. i knew that this was an unusual sighting, and i was validated a couple hours later when i heard that the sighting hit breaking news on the television. today, friday 10/19/12, i ventured to Martinez, CA to hunt for meteorites. i came back with an unusual looking rock compared to others in the area. i\'m not convinced that it is a meteorite; however i thought it was odd enough to take home with me. it is quite large (about 1/4 the size of a bowling ball). i have no way of knowing it is an authentic meteorite. i collect minerals and meteorites, but have never hunted for one before...it is black and solid, but does not seem to be magnetic...wish i could find out for certain if it is authentic...
