| Remarks | It's hard to believe, but i made the observation from the garden of my holiday house in Ravi (Gavorrano). I happened to have observed this section of the northeastern horizon towards Siena with my binoculars when I saw the white fireball through it (9 degree field of view, 7x35 Nikon), the entry, the short trail and the glaring explosion in turquoise-white color, relatively low above the horizon. You rarely see something like this once in a lifetime and I was deeply impressed. Funnily enough, I am an amateur astronomer and head of the Isar Valley Observatory in southern Bavaria (www.isartalsternwarte.de). I'm sure there was at least one fragment, incredible! Sincerely, clear skies |
