| Remarks | This event seems to have been a bolide. It may well have grazed the atmosphere and skipped off into space. It seemed to be such a large object that I would have expected to have heard about it if I had smashed into the UK mainland. I was 100% awake at the time because of pain from heart surgery and the discomfort of a very hot and humid night. Apologies for the lack of an exact date and time (both are estimates). Was there any event around that time in 1996 that might have explained my sighting ??? |

| Remarks | Swirling, flaming, then glowing, then smoking train. quite wide as the object was itself wide-bodied, with a rounded shape, trailing flames and smoke. Appeared from the SE, Chesham direction and traversed the Western sky to disappear over the horizon to the NE, in the direction of Bicester. Exact date and time not accurate as not recorded, just vividly remembered. A hot, sticky August night in 1996, recuperating from heart surgery. |
