Remarks Awesome coincidence! I was walking from harvard to central squares in Cambridge MA and there happened to b a power blackout thru much of town. i had just walked past the last lit area along mass ave into the major portion affected by the outage when i saw the fireball emerge from tall buildings on my left, and cross over the street sparkling and fizzling for a couple of seconds b4 burning out just prior to where it would have disappeared behind another building on the right side of the street. turns out there was a lady walking behind me who i heard say something like, "wow! did u see that?" i was like, "yeah, that was a fireball!" tho she probably didn't know exactly what that meant. she said something along the lines of "that was awesome" and i said something like, and i believe this, "we probably wouldn't have noticed it if there was power" since that is a pretty bright area, and the buildings are a few stories up on either side and would have normally been quite lit. i checked my cell phone immediately and i think the time was 5:48, tho i might b misremembering and it may have been 5:47. i tried to make note of where i was as i continued walking, tho i didn't make sure to notice the next cross street or anything, which i should have, since i was busy looking up tryin to notice about which stars i had seen it pass under on the left and right, so i could make an accurate report here. if i recall and estimate correctly, it appeared in the area under alpheratz, and burned out under the area of sadalbari, but FAR underneath. i am kinda estimating with the heights, so i might b a bit off. i'd say i'm probably moderately off in fact. it may have been a little higher i guess. buildings on both sides so i couldn't refer to stars/planets/moon to compare height with. actually to estimate my exact location i went into google maps streetview and tried to approximate my view of where i saw the fireball, so i may be as much as a block or 2 off, tho probably not 2. i know it was a location where mass ave bends, and then there was a gap between the upper reaches of two buildings on the right side which the fireball went near. it would have disappeared behind the rightmost building if it hadn't burnt out in fact. if i walked the same stretch now i could actually pinpoint the location better, but i'd rather report now since i don't know when i will next b walking right nearby there and don't wanna go there just to figure this out. but if i'm in the area i will make sure to do so. i'm doubtful that i will b able to edit this once they approve of it. in fact i'm just getting used to this new reporting format, so we'll see i'm sure there's stuff i havent figured out. also i was unsure if it was a true fireball in the sense of being brighter than Venus. if it was brighter, it was only marginally so. but i saw 2 people had already reported it so i figured i'd add mine, plus as i can see from the length of this post i apparently wanted to tell
