| Remarks | This was the largest thing of this nature I have ever seen by a long shot. Aside from the sun and moon, the biggest and brightest natural thing I have seen in the sky. It had a bright tail not much longer than the width of the ball. Since it was dark I'm not sure if left a smoke trail. I was driving and my view was obstructed by an overpass just ahead of me so I didn't see the very beginning or end. There was no change in size, brightness, or speed during the time it was in my range of view. It was moving very fast pretty close to the horizon traveling east to west as I was looking south. My sister and I both saw it and remember it exactly the same. |
