This was the largest and brightest meteor I have ever seen. Lasted about 2 seconds, but was very clear even though I was looking through a window. Fortunately there was very little light pollution and broken high level cloud.

the fireball left a solid trail then broke into one large piece and a smaller piece about 1\3rd of the size then both faded very quickly, the smaller piece appeared to shoot down at about 30 degrees from the original path
