| Remarks | Because it appeared directly in front of us as we drove down the road, I will never forget how fast and how big it was! I thought it was a crashing plane at first but soon realized it was moving too fast for that. Then I wondered if it were an errant missile, but again, since it didn't explode on the ground, ruled that one out. I finally concluded that it was a massive shooting star. It wasn't until I found your site that I learned it has a more specific name: fireball. |
