Reports Report 6425wi (Event 6425-2020)

Observer
Name Randi K
Experience Level 1/5
Remarks I was seated in my yard (hard to gauge my exact position from that satellite view), facing my neighbor's house, looking generally southwest, and suddenly saw what looked to be a flaming orange baseball with a green tinge that appeared to have been lobbed right over their roof. I'd never seen anything like it--it looked so close! There is a stand of tall arbor vitae nearby so I didn't get a view of the full trajectory as it was quickly obscured by the trees. The timing is also a best guess. I was out that evening from 5:30-7:30pm and it was toward the later part of that time, but I was still out a while after it occurred. By 'no' astronomy viewing experience, I mean that I like to look at the night sky, have watched for occasional meteor showers, and can identify constellations and some planets, but have no experience documenting as I did this event.
