Experience Level 3/5
Remarks This was an a typical event. We saw it from inside our house through a large picture window facing the lake we live on. It was brilliant. It came streaking in extremely fast and exploded in an even brighter light blue (electric looking) flash. The sky was absolutley clear. No smoke traisl no sounds afterwards. It was not lightening we saw. There were no storms anywahere at all, and the sky was clear. We were in a Canadian air mass cold spell, so there was no weather. What we saw was a fireball and one of the most brialliant I had ever seen. It lit everything up like day for a split second. It happened fast, real fast. It was very late (I have no exact time) around midnight on the night of January 21 into the early morning of January 22, 2013. I cannot find any reports of anyone seeing this extraordinary flash in the northeast anywhere.
