Reports Report 181au (Event 181-2013)

Observer
Name Jim Y
Experience Level 4/5
Remarks This object may have been space junk, it first appeared about 40 degrees altitude SSW, it seemed to be motionless and I thought at first it was a star, but it began brightening intensely yet still appeared stationary, probably about 1/2 seconds before streaming straight down toward the horizon in the SSW, it may have been coming straight at my field of vision when it entered the atmosphere, as it did appear to be stationary for a short time.Definitely brighter than any of the planets, maybe -6 to -7 mag. Skies were still pretty dark, so no trail was visible, and no sound was heard, but I observed it through my back door so it may have, no notice of any fragmentation or explosion, or any color other than bright white
