Reports Report 280b (Event 280-2021)

Observer
Name Kyle D
Experience Level 1/5
Remarks The sight almost looked like a large bottle rocket or maybe a roman candle, but it couldn't have been because it came from above, not rising from below and arching back to earth. Also, no "pop" characteristic of the launch of a bottle rocket or manmade fireworks, and no others like it followed. It fizzled out quickly - looked like it broke up as it hit the earth's atmosphere - and I feel fortunate to have observed it because it only lasted about 1-2 seconds. I've seen a shooting star a couple of times in my life but nothing so clear as this before!

Remarks The trail seemed to fizzle out quickly, like it must have burned up due to the friction of entering the atmosphere. It was small but very bright. Amazing sight!
