I have never seen anything like this before. I have seen many shooting stars but this was so much closer and brighter.

It caught my eye because it was extremely bright and it changed in color from white to blue followed by a striking reddish explosion; it looked like something burst into pieces as if a plane maybe exploded. It was very dark afterwards and I did not see or hear anything else.
