I was located in NW Calgary, looking towards the NE when I saw the flash. I did not see a trail as I was in y living room with an exposure to the NE. The flash was just at or below the horizon and the sky lit went to 20 degrees below zenith.

Lit sky like lightening. Looking NE out living room window. What caused the flash was just at the Horizon blocked be buildings and trees.
