Reports Report 1202bnn (Event 1202-2021)

Observer
Name Roger S
Experience Level 3/5
Remarks I was unsure whether I was observing a meteor or a single firework descending. Whilst only lasting about 2 seconds, it appeared to be dimming and reducing in speed as it descended. I expected it to disappear from view behind a nearby (1 mile) hill, but when it persisted in view with the hill behind, I realised it was very close and thought it must be a firework. Just as it was dimming, its path changed to approx horizontal near buildings. I thought then that it must have been a firework, whilst the speed was not in keeping. I am now sure I saw a fragment fall to earth, after realising all the other reports. The sudden change of trajectory, I now realise was it striking something near to ground!
