Remarks I had just arrived at a traffic intersection. While waiting for the light to change to green, I admired the sunset. And then voila -- the moving white bright object, then disappeared. I sent a text to my 13 y.o. daughter right after: "Holy cow. Did you just see that meteor? It was so bright and streaking for quite a while. Out over Portland from our perspective. That will definitely be in the news. I happened to be looking right in that direction because of the beautiful sunset, and then there it was. It was so intense that it was almost as if I could hear it. Like a sparkler....It was at 5:38 PM. Over the Western sky."
