Remarks |
My fiancée in Caimanera messaged me at 11:24pm Cuban time (3:24pm UTC) that she heard a strong constant sound and felt an earthquake. I checked the seismograph at the Guantanamo Bay Naval Station (https://earthquake.usgs.gov/static/earthquake-network-operations/Seismic_Data/telemetry_data/GTBY_24hr.html) and saw and saw seismic activity at 10:12pm. Cubadebate news service then reported that at 10:06pm the seismograph in Moa registered an event and people in the area reported red and white luminous events in the sky followed by a strong explosion. Enrique Arango Arias, Jefe del Servicio Sismologico Nacional confirmed that it was a meteorite. |
