This was behind the clouds and I just barely caught it out of the corner of my eye so I missed the initial part but I got to watch it split apart and then fade out from my view.

When I first looked down the street it was a small glowing object behind some clouds and then it quickly split and it looked like there were several small fireballs with 2-3 bigger ones.
