I tried to follow it/see where it went, and drove to a lookout at Mt Tamborine to see if I could find it but I couldn't see any remnants. It looked like that scene from Transformers when the Autobots come to earth...

The object lit up like when you light a match (I assume as it entered the atmosphere) and stayed very bright for a second or two until it passed behind the trees and I lost sight of it.
