Remarks I'm the environment writer for The Daytona Beach News-Journal. This sighting blew me away. I've never seen anything even remotely similar, even though I've gone out to a dark sky area to observe meteor showers and have seen many shooting stars, as well as a couple of comments. It was "enormous" and very bright. It was particularly interesting because about 45 minutes earlier at my home several miles away we heard an unexplained sonic boom type sound that was also heard across much of Central Florida. I can send links to news stories about that if you wish.
