I felt it was like seeing a firework, but horizontally. It was at least 10-15 times slower than a standard shooting star.
The first impression I got was that it was a plane doing its approach towards Dorval airport. I am not exactly sure of the time, but the following day, when I looked for other sightings of the phenomena, the hour mentioned (10h30 PM) seemed about right (maybe if I find the MacDonald car order with the time on it, that would help. I think I saw the fire ball 5-10 minutes or so before finally getting my order (it was a real slow process, that night, too many clients)
Compared to what others saw in Ontario, or western Quebec, it seemed really tinier and less coloured (only bright white, like a white firework), but had the same slow speed. As I said earlier: as if a plane had caught fire.
As for the sound, I wouldn't say there wasn't any. But it was in the city and I was in the car, so nothing really noticeable.
On a more "impressionist" note, I felt like it might have fallen in Lac des deux Montagnes, because of it trajectory. But there was no real downward direction at the end of my sighting. So hard to tell, with no real experience. |
