Remarks Been watching meteor showers all late summer, but this was something different. The whole sky lit up like a car with full beams right near me, but trees around were shadowed, the light came from the sky object, I saw a glow of the sky at first before seeing the thing fall. Large, not sure if a trick of the mind, but I interpreted what I saw as a dark mass surrounded by orange and red. I was focussed so much at it, that I didn't pay attention to a trail, there probably was one, but not a huge one. Tried to work out where it would have landed, if it hit, but not knowing scale made it difficult to gauge distance. Visually it was probably 1/2 to 2/3 the width of an average full moon, if it hit the ground with no sound, I'd assume it was either small and close, or just broke up. Best guess would be near ocle pychard if it was close by. Time is approx +-10minutes. It faded very close to the horizon. At first wondered if part of an aeroplane had fallen, but no idea. Super interesting. Hope you get more reports on it!
