Reports Report 5736q (Event 5736-2021)

Observer
Name Sandy L
Experience Level 2/5
Remarks The short contrail was the only thing in the sky and drew my attention to it. I live on a hilltop and was sitting on my porch. I looked to see if there were other contrails…we have lots of overhead plane activity. There were none. Then came the flash. I noted the time on my cell phone. Then I watched the trail for several minutes until it dissolved into two small clouds. The trails were going directly east, about 1/2-2/3 above the mountain horizon. There was no fireball or orange color. Nothing was seen except the trails and then the flash.

Remarks Flash looked geometric…triangle-rectangular, white-blue. I thought it might have been the sun hitting an airplane or an explosion. That’s why I noted the time.
