We both agreed it must have been lightning. Then after seeing reports of other sightings, and it being winter, thought that it may have been related. We were driving at the time.

Like lightning flash, but no arc. It was cloudy and dark, my wife and I both saw a flash to the west of our location. Nothing else was viewed.
