Reports Report 6438c (Event 6438-2021)

Observer
Name Jesper S
Experience Level 3/5
Remarks The trail was a straight line pointing slightly downwards. It burned out 2-3 degrees before ‘reaching’ Jupiter (from my perspective). Flight TP752/TAP752 LIS-CPH flew right above me 1 minute later in the opposite direction. They may have observed the light ball on their front / starboard side. Their calibrated altitude 2 minutes later was 5.890 ft and ground speed 268 kts.

Concurrent Sound
Observation Yes
Remarks I think nothing. There could have been a slight sizzle. Suspect it’s imaginary due to the gradually increasing sizzling light that came to full stop when it burned up.
Delayed Sound
Observation No
Remarks -
Persistent train
Observation Yes
Duration 0.01s
Length
Remarks I remember no smoke. Only light train. As the ball became brighter the trail ‘grew’ longer. From a small glimpse at first to a few (maybe 5-7) degrees just before burnout.
Terminal flash
Observation Yes
Remarks It was more like exponential increase in light until it suddenly turned off
Fragmentation
Observation Unknown
