my wife & I both saw it simultaneously, both said I got a wish! we thought it was a shooting star and then doubted it because it was SO big and SO low. saw it head on and turned with it to see it go streaking away, VERY fast but it didn't seem as fast as shooting stars. we live on Martha's Vineyard Island, always watch the perseides, orionids and most recently leonids (they were great!). Missed the geminids cuz we were traveling. Happened to be in Boston (Brookline) leaving a restaurant with another couple -- they missed it. Best I've ever seen. Have a few astro apps (meteorguide, skyview, star walk's the best) but just like seeing them, no formal background. Was AMAZING!! Thought we heard it go 'whoooossssh' but was probably wishful thinkling |
