Reports Report 1839e (Event 1839-2022)

Remarks This happened in broad daylight. It was about an hour or an hour and a half before sunset. The weather was dry and sunny - blue sky with some fluffy white clouds. There were two other walkers at West Kennett Long Barrow who saw this fireball too (one was the first to spot it, as she was facing that way). It streaked across the sky, totally silent, but with a noticeable bright ‘tail’ - disappeared briefly behind a large cloud then reappeared and ‘flared’ into bright yellow and white, then disappeared. None of us had ever seen anything like it. I’ve seen many shooting stars at night, but nothing in daylight. Also nothing which lasted that long or was that size.
