Remarks | i was with my parents when i saw this one. we were sitting in chairs during the sighting and actually measured these distances with a tape measure afterwards. the tree is 30 feet tall, and 55 feet away from me (hypotenuse), offset to my right by about 25 feet. my dad was 4 feet to my left, and two feet in front of me. my mom was directly 3 feet to my right. my dad saw the fireball for the duration of entire burn, completely uninterrupted. my dad claims that he saw the meteor about 15 feet to the left of the tree's trunk from his perspective. i saw the beginning of the of the burn for about one second, lost sight behind the tree, and then saw it again for about two-three seconds before it disappeared. my mother only saw a flash before it was completely blocked by the tree for the remainder of the burn. |
