| Remarks | This object was very long, very thick tailed, brighter than the moon object. I experienced a range of emotions while viewing this event from confusion at first, to amazement, and finally fear when it looked like this large object was going to hit the earth somewhere in the west. I have never seen anything like this in my life and I have regularly seen meteor showers from land and while working at sea for over a decade. My husband also saw it but only caught the tail end. I am amazed that no one else has reported it so far in New York State. |
