Observed a glowing train, orange-yellow in color, analogous to a match flame. This was oriented at a right angle to the landscape rather than arcing across the sky.

The flash was greenish in color and diffused, similar to intra-cloud lightning often observed locally during tropical storms. Conditions were clear and very dark with minimal light pollution in the rural location in which the event was observed. Small stars were visible with unaided vision.
