As I said earlier, my time statement is approximate but I was up in the observatory from about 22:00 to 23:00 and since I thought it was a powerful spotlight I did not think about looking at my watch. This was a brighter flash than any fireball I have seen.

Remarks
Since I was at my telescope I actually closed my eyes because I thought someone up the hill (hill blocks about 15 deg of sky) turned on a spotlight, when I opened them the whole hillside was illuminated and all I saw was a very bright (several times brighter than full moon and about that size) flash briefly and either go out or go behind the hill. My time statement is very approximate since I did not consult my watch.
